Bookshelf - April is National Poetry Month

You've asked, and we've made it happen
Ever since our library's transition to a new online catalog, the No. 1 patron request has been to bring back access to our "on order" files. Although this feature is not a part of the new software, our staffers have found a way to make this information available to you. You will find what you are looking for on our "What's New" page or by clicking here for books and here for DVDs. We will continue looking for ways to improve this feature.

Budget presentation
The library's proposed budget will be presented at the Monday, May 11, Board of Trustees meeting at 6pm; we encourage you to attend. The vote will be held Tuesday, May 19, 7am-9pm at the high school. Two seats on the library board, each with a five-year term, will also be on the ballot. View the proposed budget here (pdf).

Where do you go from here?
It's easy to find yourself at a career crossroads. Maybe the job you always wanted doesn't feel like the right fit anymore. Perhaps you have a year or two of higher education under your belt but are uncertain where it will take you. You could still be in high school wondering how to get the most out of your future. Wherever you are, the library is offering a career series designed to give you the information you need to get your professional life heading in the right direction.

Lend a hand
There are many opportunities for adults to volunteer in the Bethlehem area. Pick up your copy of our brochure that lists local not-for-profit organizations to see what each offers and how to get in contact with them. The brochure can be found here and also in print at the library.
