Sewing and crafts

The library holds sewing programs throughout the year using our collection of more than a half-dozen machines. Try your hand at quilting or make a purse or zippered pouch. Programs are recommended for those with basic sewing machine experience. Most require registration. The library also frequently offers “Make It Yourself” craft classes featuring a variety of projects.

Sew-Along: Fabric Basket

Librarian Tori Russo will show you how to sew your own easy fabric basket. You will need cotton fabric and fusible fleece for this project. You will also need your sewing machine and access to an iron.

Please come to the meeting with materials pre-cut to the following dimensions:

  • Exterior fabric: (2) 10.5”x16.5” rectangles*** for the basket AND (2) 5”x9” rectangles for handles
***the top of the basket is along the 16.5” side so if you have a directional print, be sure the top of the print runs along the 16.5” side
  • Interior fabric: (2) 10.5”x16.5” rectangles
  • Fusible fleece: (2) 10.5”x16.5” rectangles

*Please note: You must enter your email address in the registration form. This enables the library to send you the invitation with access to the Zoom meeting.
