“Everybody Says Meow”

Everybody Says Meow! Or do they? Fans of Sandra Boynton and of Jules Feiffer’s classic Bark, George will meow, bark, and ribbit when they hear this picture book about a waggish group of adorable animals that just cannot follow one simple instruction.

WATCH and LISTEN to Constance Lombardo read her book Everybody Says Meow:

SONG: I Know a Cat (tune: Bingo)

I know a cat with perky ears, and Kitty is her name-o.
K-I-T-T-Y,  K-I-T-T-Y,  K-I-T-T-Y.
And Kitty is her name-o.

She makes a sound and it’s “Meow,”
and Kitty is her name-o.
K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y,
and Kitty is her name-o.

FINGERPLAY: One Little Kitten

One little kitten with a tiny mew,  (hold up one finger)
Called for another, and then there were two.  (hold up two fingers)
Two little kittens, climbing up a tree,  (make climbing motions)
Called for another, and then there were three.  (hold up three fingers)
Three little kittens, racing ‘round the floor,  (roll hands over one another)
Called for a friend, and then there were four.  (hold up four fingers)
Four little kittens, frisky and alive,
Called for a friend, and then there were five. (hold up five fingers)
A puppy comes along, hoping for some fun,
And all the little kittens run, run, run!  (wiggle five fingers and hide them behind your back)
